This guide will walk you through the process of preparing a topical solution of RU8841 from its powdered form. By the end, you’ll have the know-how to create solutions with concentrations ranging from 2.5% to 10%, with or without minoxidil.
Although I find this guide to be quite simple, I do intend to include videos in the future to provide a more detailed understanding of the preparations.
Preparation: RU58841 + Minoxidil
The easiest method involves adding RU58841 to a Minoxidil solution. This way, you won’t need to buy anything else, and the solution will be consistent because RU58841 dissolves perfectly in the Minoxidil bottle, which contains ethanol and propylene glycol.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Minoxidil (5% or 2%)
- RU58841 (powder)
- A highly sensitive scale
- A teaspoon
- A funnel (or a piece of paper)
The process is quite simple: weigh the required amount of RU58841 using the scale and add it to your Minoxidil bottle. You can use the funnel or a piece of paper as a funnel to make it easier. Give the solution a good stir, and that’s all there is to it!

Preparation: RU58841 + Ethanol + Propylene Glycol
If you choose not to use Minoxidil, you can opt for this second method to prepare your RU58841 solution by acquiring all the necessary components.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- RU58841 (powder)
- Ethanol
- Propylene Glycol
- An empty amber or opaque bottle (with a dropper)
- A highly sensitive scale
- A teaspoon
- A funnel (or a piece of paper)
The procedure is just as straightforward: add ethanol and propylene glycol to your bottle in a way that creates a 60% ethanol and 40% propylene glycol ratio. For example, if your bottle holds 60 ml, you’ll need to pour 36 ml of ethanol and 24 ml of propylene glycol.
Then, weigh the RU58841 using your scale and add the required amount to achieve your desired concentration. For instance, if you want a 5% concentration, you should add 3 grams of RU58841 to your solution, which equals 50 mg of RU58841 per ml. Stir the solution thoroughly until it becomes clear.

How to store RU58841?
RU58841 is a relatively unstable compound that degrades rapidly unless stored under specific conditions. To effectively preserve its integrity, it’s crucial to follow these guidelines:
- Avoid exposure to heat.
- Keep it away from light.
- Store it in a cool environment.
For RU58841 in powdered form: ideally, store it in the freezer in an airtight container, ensuring no moisture enters the container.
For topical RU58841: Freezing isn’t practical as it would require thawing before each use and may risk breaking if the container is glass. In this case, refrigeration is preferable. Place it in the coldest section, preferably on the upper shelves. Also, use an opaque or amber bottle to minimize exposure to light.
Another important consideration is the quantity of topical solution you prepare. It’s recommended to make solutions for a maximum duration of one month. This approach ensures that you’re using a medication that retains its full potential.
